Shikhar Dhawan was born on September 5, 1985, into a Punjabi Khatri family. He began his early education at Lajpat Public School, Priyadarshini Vihar. Shikhar Dhawan made his Test debut on March 14, 2013, against Australia, and he played his final Test match on January 5, 2018, against South Africa.

Similarly, he began his One Day International (ODI) career on October 20, 2010, against Australia, and his last ODI was played on February 16, 2018, against South Africa.

In T20 Internationals, he played his first match on June 4, 2011, against the West Indies, and his last T20 match was played on November 7, 2017, against New Zealand.

In his Test career, Shikhar Dhawan has played 29 Test matches, scoring a total of 2046 runs at an average of 42.62. He has contributed 6 centuries and 5 half-centuries in Test cricket, with his highest individual score being 190 runs.

In One Day Internationals (ODIs), he has played 102 matches, amassing 4361 runs at an average of 45.90, including 13 centuries and 25 half-centuries. His highest ODI score is 137 runs.

In 2012, Shikhar Dhawan married Aesha, an Australian citizen who had been previously divorced and had two daughters from her previous marriage. Shikhar and Aesha have a son together named Zoravar Dhawan, who is 10 years old. Zoravar holds Australian citizenship like his mother.

However, their marital life had been experiencing turmoil for some time, and the matter reached the family court. In court, it was revealed that Shikhar Dhawan was facing mental distress due to the ongoing issues in their relationship. Based on these grounds, the court granted them a divorce.

Shikhar Dhawan asserted in court that his wife had promised to come to India after their marriage and acquire Indian citizenship, but she did not fulfill that promise. The court considered this as a significant reason for granting the divorce.

Their separation had been ongoing for quite some time, and Shikhar Dhawan had not met his son for a considerable period before the divorce was finalized.
