On Tuesday, Indian cueist Pankaj Advani Won World Billiards Championship 26 times defeated fellow countryman Sourav Kothari in the final to win the IBSF World Billiards Championship

In a rematch of the Kuala Lumpur title match from the previous year, Advani defeated Kothari 1000–416.

In this tournament back in 2005, he had taken home his first-ever global championship. Advani may have won the World Team Billiards title once, but he also won eight times in the “point format” title in addition to his ninth “long format” victory.

Advani won the semi-final match of this tournament, defeating fellow Indian cueist Rupesh Shah 900-273.

While Kothari defeated Dhruv Sitwala in his semi-final match, winning 900–756, in the other half of the draw.

Sitwala scored 199 and 188 breaks, while Kothari had 223 and 82.

Indian professional snooker and pool player Pankaj Arjan Advani was born on July 24, 1985  to a Sindhi family in Pune India. . The International Billiards and Snooker Federation (IBSF) has crowned him a world champion 26 ( including 2023) times.

He has won 17 world championships in pool, 16 IBSF World Billiards Championships, and one World Team Billiards Championship.

His snooker victories include three IBSF World Snooker Championships, two IBSF World Six-Red Championships, and one each of the IBSF World Team Cup and IBSF World Team Championship. He has won the most IBSF world titles ever.

At the World Billiards Championship in England in 1999, Advani made his competitive debut on the international scene. Following his victory as the 2003 World Snooker Champion, he went on to win the 2005 IBSF World Billiards Championship in Qawra, Malta, where he made history as the first cueist to accomplish a “Grand Double” by winning both the time and point forms.

He’s achieved the “Grand Double” three times: in Bangalore in 2008, in England in 2014, and in Myanmar in 2018. He is the only person from India to have triumphed in both billiards and snooker amateur world titles.
