Indian Women’s Cricket Team –  In Asian Games 2023 has won the gold medal 2023 against Sri lanka.

In a historic cricket match, the India Women’s team displayed remarkable resilience by defending a modest total of 116 runs against Sri Lanka Women. Their outstanding performance secured a memorable victory, as they clinched the gold medal with a 19-run win.

Indian woman won the toss and Elected to bat first. Facing a challenging pitch, Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues showcased commendable resilience while dealing with the formidable Sri Lankan spinners.

Vice-captain Smriti Mandhana score  46 ( highest from India side ) while Jemimah Rodrigues played second highest with 42.

In the 20 over India score 116 which was quite good score.

 The pace battery of Titas Sadhu and Pooja Vastrakar proved their job.

Sadhu made a significant impact with her bowling, taking three crucial wickets in quick succession, (3wickets by giving only 6 runs in her allotted quota of 4 overs) with one of most important wicket of Sri Lanka’s skipper, Chamari Athapaththu, early in the game.

In a historic moment for Indian cricket, the national team secured the GOLD MEDAL in their inaugural appearance at the Asian Games 2022, marking a remarkable achievement in the tournament.

After the fall of 3 quick wickets there was a 36-run partnership between Hasini Perera and Nilakshi de Silva. Rajeshwari Gayakwad  took the most important wicket of Perera .

In a historic victory, the Indian women’s cricket team has triumphed over Sri Lanka by a margin of 19 runs, securing a long-awaited and elusive gold medal in cricket at the Asian Games.
