Dharavi Residents Flats With 17% More Space

The Adani Group announced that it will provide new, 350 square foot apartments to qualified residents of the Dharavi slum clusters in Mumbai. This is the largest slum redevelopment project in the city and represents a 17% increase in area. The group’s branch, Dharavi Redevelopment Project Pvt., is redeveloping Dharavi in conjunction with the Maharashtra government.

According to the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), which provides dwellings for the urban poor, houses in the state’s informal settlements were previously limited to 269 square feet. However, as of 2018, Dharavi Residents Flats With 17% More Space was increased to between 315 and 322 square feet.

The reconstruction aims to provide Dharavi and New Dharavi people with a better standard of living, economic possibilities, cutting-edge education and vocational training, state-of-the-art health facilities, and a high-quality lifestyle.


The renovated building will have well-lit, well-ventilated, sanitary, and secure apartments with separate kitchens and built-in independent toilets for eligible residential tenements that were in place prior to January 1, 2000.
